Project Summary

Laboratory leadership is grounded in cutting-edge innovation and breakthrough technology, transforming the way they treat diseases and conditions. The laboratory has the widest array of offerings in the industry with products organized into two business.

This project was awarded amidst Covid-19 and took advantage of the lockdown time to methodically plan the entire project, program deliverables, shop drawings and programming. When the lockdown was lifted, we had saved so much time that we managed to deliver the project before time.

Apart from having the state of art AV solutions the client also wanted to ensure longevity of these solutions which they intended to incorporate in their facility. There were various kinds of rooms with different AV solutions to meet the uses case requirements. Given the pandemic situation, the client was particularly keen on the AV set up to be such that social distancing was maintained in the rooms. The client also wanted minimal touch in the solution. The consultant noted these and designed the AV solutions for different kinds of workspaces to meet these requirements. The client was very specific on the deliverables needed and we maintained our standards, professionalism, and quality of work to achieve the ask as needed.

The facility essentially comprised of fitting out 22 types of spaces divided into Reception Areas, Meeting Rooms,Meeting & Training Rooms, Boardrooms, Divisible Meeting Rooms, Amphitheatre, Visitors Cabins, Collaboration Spaces, Command Centre, Emergency Control Room, Gymnasium, Cabins, Videowall, Active LED Video Wall, and an additional scope of Digital Signage, DMS Displays, Rooms Schedulers and IT Rooms. To achieve these, we had done the Auto CAD drawings and super imposed the same for the other key stakeholders/vendors. The programming was done in line with the client’s global design and GUI to maintain the similar look and feel. Active and decisive project coordination between the client, consultant, and other stakeholders/vendors was the key ask, given the pandemic situation. All “Covid 19” Safety measures, precautions, always wearing of masks and social distancing were needed and always maintained to keep the site as an infection free zone. Health and Safety of all individuals were the top priority.

Installations were planned for mostly night shifts to ensure minimal interaction with other vendors at site and all Covid related safety measures as advised by the local government and social distancing were always maintained. We coordinated over VC with individuals who could not physically be at site hence saving us time. Active discussions with various OEMs and freight forwarders and detailed planning of deliveries during the global pandemic situation was precisely done by our procurement and logistics team to ensure before time deliveries of the materials at site. This involved consolidation of materials at strategic areas in different countries before shipping . We had our programmers and key engineers who underwent specific OEM Certification training to ensure a proper functional solutions were achieved. To overcome the hurdle of sourcing the video wall and its related accessories at the same price we scouted the globe and managed to get the material shipped from four different countries within the given timelines.

The appreciation we received from the client and from the consultant for the successful completion and handover of the project was very satisfying for us. Arranging the material in difficult situations and delivering the same before time, helped us to complete the overall project successfully. A complex project completed before time to the clients and consultants’ satisfaction always makes one proud of the achievement. Given the “Covid 19” pandemic there were many adjustments that had to be made and under such challenging conditions only good leadership with the right approach, plus proper planning and execution could make this possible. This was a project which will always remain as a colourful feather in the cap of success.
